Manuscripts &c. on Instagram

This #ManuscriptMonday coincides with #HugAMedievalistDay! We celebrate with one of my favourite scenes in books of hours, the Visitation. This one comes from the Hours of Antoine de Crèvecœur, Leeds, University of Leeds Library, Brotherton Collection MS 4, fol. 60v (detail). While I get back into the habit of posting on Instagram in the New Year, I thought we can revisit some of my past work, especially the blogposts I’ve written on a variety of darling Kansas manuscripts on Thursdays. So, today it’s #tbt to January 2020! Anyone remember that far back? #HappyNewYear2025! I’ve been barely active recently on social media, especially here but planning a comeback in 2025! I’m so delighted to see these little gems I’ve been working on in the last year now on public display! Don’t miss our mini exhibit: Medieval Manuscript Fragments from the Ripon Cathedral Library now open at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery of @lulgalleries! The fragments are accompanied with an artistic response by @alicefoxartist and multispectral images we took during the @leedsims #LeedsDigitalExplorations project. Happy May Day! I know it’s been a while dear followers! Thanks for sticking around! In my last Manuscript Monday posting as the Ann Hyde Postdoctoral Researcher from the Kenneth Spencer Research Library, I'm delighted to announce another new acquisition to the medieval manuscript collection of KU Libraries! I recently had the occasion to unroll our roll manuscript Pryce MS J1 at Spencer Library! A whopping 3.25 meters--almost 11 feet--in its full glory! (Swipe to see the rest.)
